What To Do On A Virtual Learning (Flexible Instruction/Asynchronous) Day

WHAT TO DO ON A FLEXIBLE INSTRUCTION DAY

5th & 6th GRADE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Specifically, these directions pertain to school closure due to inclement weather or other concerns.

1.Teachers will send home a paper-pencil packet for students to complete. Students do not need their Chromebook.
2.Teachers will send home an assignment for each class that is relevant to what students are currently learning, and students can complete independently.
3.Student attendance will be accounted for by the successful completion of ALL assignments. If all assignments are not completed appropriately and handed in the next day, students will be marked absent from school for the FID.
4.Attendance will be registered after all work has been checked by the teachers and entered by school attendance staff.
5.If you have any questions regarding an assignment, teachers are available through email between 9:30-11AM and 12-3PM.
6.If you are unable to complete an assignment for any reason that is beyond your control (e.g. loss of power, no internet), contact your teacher within twenty-four hours of the closure with an explanation (call, email, or send in a parent note). You will need to be specific with your explanation, and you will eventually need to make up the assignment.

7th & 8th GRADE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Specifically, these directions pertain to school closure due to inclement weather or other concerns.

1. Check in for attendance using the Google Form on the MS Homepage between 6AM-10AM. This will mark you as attending for the school day.

2.  All work is ASYNCHRONOUS, which means you will work on the assignments at your own pace. Live Zoom sessions will not take place.

3.  Each class should have a Canvas page. For each of your classes, check the Canvas page. There will be an assignment for you to complete for each class for the day. Make sure you know what rotation day it is for your rotation class. A schedule is posted to the MS homepage.

4.  Make sure you know the due date. For most assignments, the due date will be midnight of the date of the closure. However, larger assignments may have a longer deadline. All assignments are due by the stated deadline.

5.  If you have any questions regarding an assignment, teachers are available through email between 9:30-11 AM and 12-3 PM.

6.  If you are having technical difficulties with your Chromebook or Canvas, you can email helpspot@tyrone.k12.pa.us.

7.  If you are unable to complete an assignment for any reason that is beyond your control (e.g. loss of power, no internet), contact your teacher within twenty-four hours of the closure with an explanation (call, email, or send in a parent note). You will need to be specific with your explanation, and you will eventually need to make up the assignment.

HAVE A GREAT DAY OF LEARNING!!!
