Safety Drills
The safety of all our children, school staff, and support personnel is very important to us. In order to maintain a safe environment for our school community, it is necessary that we practice our emergency and crisis response plans by having drills designed to exercise our procedures.

Tyrone Area School District Ranks in Top 10% of School Districts for Commitment to Whole-Child Education.
Tyrone Area School District’s dedication to providing an evidence-informed education that prepares students for success in the real world has led it to earn the annual EVERFI Empowered Seal. Tyrone is the only district in Blair County with this distinction.

Flexible Instruction Days (Asynchronous)
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) continues to approve the use of Flexible Instruction Days (FID) as an alternative form of instruction in place of a day that may otherwise be canceled due to inclement weather or emergency. Approved School Districts may replace an inclement weather day with a FID day without having to alter the school calendar to make up the day.

Safe 2 Say
Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. With Safe2Say Something, it’s easy and confidential to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies.
