    Dear Elementary Families,

I hope this letter finds you and your family happy and healthy. Since the holiday break, we have very much enjoyed having the students back in the building. It is so nice to see their smiling faces and to hear them so excited to tell their friends stories or to talk about the newest game they have discovered.

I am writing today because we have been evaluating COVID cases within our community and within our school over the past few weeks and feel we have reached a point where we are ready to move toward returning our students to full, in-person instruction. At the Elementary School, we can safely follow the District’s Health and Safety Plan, which includes social distancing, wearing masks, and practicing good hygiene. In addition, we continue to acknowledge the importance of education happening in person.

To begin the transition, all PreK, Kindergarten and First Grade Students will return to full-time, in-person instruction on Monday, February 8th.  These students will report to school on all regularly scheduled school days. District and Elementary Administrative Staff will continue to assess the return of this group of students as we anticipate the eventual return of the remaining Elementary students to full, in-person instruction. In the meantime, Second, Third and Fourth Grade Students will remain in the current Hybrid Instructional Model.

As we continue to navigate the unknown territory before us, we remain thankful for such supportive and caring Tyrone Elementary families. We know that this change in education has been difficult for everyone and we appreciate the dedication and support we have received from our families over the past several months. We will continue to keep you updated and informed as we move forward.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

    Sincerely,

    The Elementary Administrative Team
