High School Counselors will begin meeting with students Monday, February 18, 2020 to begin their 2020-2021 on-line course request forms. This includes current students in grades 8 through 11. After the initial meeting with the counselors, students and parents are able to work together through the Sapphire portal to complete and/or revised student course requests. The on-line course request forms for the 20-21 year will remain open for changes through March 6, 2020.
Scheduling Instructions as well as the 20-21 Course Description Guide are posted on the Counseling Office page under 20-210 High School Student On-Line Scheduling.
CAREFUL ATTENTION TO COURSE SELECTION IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL. The on-line course request forms will be closed on March 6, 2020. After March 6, 2020 any requests to make changes to your 2020-2021 course requests must be submitted on a course request change form to the high school counseling office on or before April 30, 2020. No student/parent changes to course requests will be made after this date.
Mid-year course assignments made by teachers during the scheduling process are subject to change based on the student’s final course grade, class performance and their Keystone assessment results. Parent/Guardian requests to change final course assignments will not be honored.
NO CHANGES to course request selections will be accepted after April 30, 2020.
Each student’s schedule will be considered complete as of the first day of school, and there will be NO schedule changes without just cause. The following are circumstances under which schedule changes may be made after this date:
- A student’s schedule is incorrect due to:
- An incomplete or incorrect schedule: For example, a missing period, two math assignments, a missing core course, computer data entry error.
- To meet the requirements of a special program such as Learning Support, English as a Second Language (ESL), Keystone Remediation, COOP, PACE, Dual Enrollment or GACTC
If you have any questions or require assistance in the on-line scheduling process, please contact the High School Guidance office at (814) 684-4240 or by email.
