  • Clay Avenue Delays

PennDot has scheduled a storm water line replacement project on Clay Avenue, from 15th Street to the front of the High School.  The project is scheduled to begin Friday, August 15th, with completion expected by September 24th. Representatives from PennDot, Tyrone Area School District, Tyrone Regional Health Network, and Grannas Brothers met to discuss anticipated delays and congestion with traffic associated with the replacement of the storm water line on Clay Avenue.

All students, parents, and employees should expect delays and congestion as traffic will be reduced to one lane around the construction area which is expected to be 300’ – 400’ as the work progresses.
Signage boards will be placed at the three entrances/exits to the school district campus directing traffic exiting the school property to turn right.  In addition to school crossing guards on Clay Avenue, traffic control officers will be stationed at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Third Street to control traffic flow.
