The Lower (pronounced like tower) Trail is a 16-mile recreational trail located on the abandoned Petersburg Branch of the old Pennsylvania Railroad. It follows the Frankstown Branch of the Juniata River between Flowing Springs (Blair County) and Alexandria (Huntingdon County). The Lower Trail is open to the public, free of charge, for hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and other forms of non-motorized recreation.
